Womble Bond Dickinson Partners Alan Enslen, Lisa Rushton, and Joe Whitley and will participate in the 9th Annual Southeastern White Collar Crime Institute in Braselton, GA, September 6-8, 2023. The event is presented by the American Bar Association’s Criminal Justice Section.

Enslen will moderate the panel “Cross Border – Export and Sanctions Roundtable,” discussing the initiatives undertaken by the Biden administration to meet this increasingly important national security and corporate enforcement priority – the prevention of improper financial transactions and the unapproved export of sensitive U.S. technology and goods.

Rushton will participate in the panel discussion “Environmental Crimes,” discussing environmental criminal provisions, using experts to address hypertechnical proof issues, the fine line between civil and criminal violations of environmental laws, and viewpoints of prosecutors, defense attorneys, and criminal investigators on environmental crimes cases.

Whitley will host a fireside chat with Lisa Miller, Deputy Assistant Attorney General of the Department of Justice. Speakers will also address the future of sanctions and export enforcement for 2024 and beyond.
