Chris Mammen to Discuss the Impact of AI Algorithms on Copyright and Patent Law

Over the past three years, questions of AI-as-inventor has impacted Patent and Copyright law. On Friday, February 24, Womble Bond Dickinson's London office is hosting a lunch followed by discussion to explore this subject.

Partner Chris Mammen will be joining to discuss his experience on AI Algorithms becoming classed as Authors and Artists under Copyright Law. The firm's IP and Data team will then be looking at Patent Law related to this field.

The scope of the debate is wide-ranging and includes considerations of the laws as part of economic policy, individual economic incentives, the future and pace of innovation, as well as more fundamental questions about the extent to which copyright law should be aimed at protecting human creativity.
