Tangled up in Blue: Jack Hicks to Discuss Innovations in Denim Manufacturing & Technology

Blue jeans may seem like a simple, traditional product. But there is more than a century of science and technology behind denim—and that innovation continues today.

Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Jack Hicks provides patent strategy guidance to some of the world’s leading denim manufacturers and on Thursday, March 21, he will moderate several presentations from a panel discussion on “Denim Innovations.” He will be joined in the discussion by innovators Victor Lytvinenko of the Raleigh Denim Workshop, Rod Smitherman of Avery Dennison and Karl Mayer Holding GmbH & Co’s Matt Carter.

The event is sponsored by the White Oak Legacy Foundation and Launch Greensboro, and will take place at Revolution Mill (a former textile mill that has been transformed into a mixed-use development) in Greensboro, N.C.

In 2022, Hicks was interviewed in a White Oak Legacy Foundation documentary on the history of denim innovation.
