Jeff Whittle Takes Part in GMU Discussion on IP & Technology Innovation in Muslim-Majority Countries

Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Jeff Whittle was a speaker at a George Mason University webinar on “Challenges & Opportunities with Intellectual Property & Technology Innovation in Muslim-Majority Countries”. The event took place Jan. 12 and was presented by GMU’s Center for Intellectual Property x Innovation Policy.

Experts and leaders involved with intellectual property (IP) and technology innovation in Muslim-majority countries took part in a discussion about challenges and opportunities in countries with varying degrees of religious laws and developing interests in economic development.

Joining Whittle in the discussion were:

  • Saad Hasan: Principal, Sturgeon Capital;
  • Dr. Bashar Malkawi: Legal Counsel and Head of Research and Publications, The Government of Dubai Legal Affairs Department;
  • Kevin Tamm: Senior Intellectual Property Counsel, SI Group; and
  • Tabrez Y. Ebrahim (Moderator): Associate Professor, Lewis & Clark Law School; Scholar, Center for Intellectual Property x Innovation Policy, George Mason University.
