LOS ANGELES (May 21, 2024) – Womble Bond Dickinson today announced that Young Seok Koo has joined the firm as a partner in the Patent Prosecution & Litigation Practice Group. A registered patent attorney, he focuses his practice on US and foreign patent prosecution, opinion work, and due diligence. 

Koo counsels of various sizes on infringement, validity, and pre-litigation strategies, as well as trademark and trade secret law. His technological knowledge spans a broad range of electronic and computer software technologies in a variety of fields, including automotive technologies, multi-media codecs, mobile and wireless communications, AI and machine learning, and medical devices.

This addition reflects continued momentum for the firm’s Patent Prosecution & Litigation Group, which has welcomed 18 practitioners in the last year, including many patent agents and technical advisors with advanced degrees. 

Prior to relocating to the US, Koo worked at a large IP law firm in Seoul, Korea, where he focused on registering, licensing, and strategizing the makeup and presentation of patent portfolios for large-cap companies. He graduated from Washington University School of Law and received a bachelor’s degree in electrical and electronics engineering from Yonsei University.
