Legal Ethics in the AI Era: Insights from Ted Claypoole and Delta Credit Union's Gabe Oros

On Wednesday, July 24 Womble Bond Dickinson hosted a breakfast CLE for the Georgia chapter of the Association of Corporate Counsel. Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Ted Claypoole and Delta Community Credit Union Deputy General Counsel Gabe Oros presented on “Duty of Technological Competence in the AI Era” for ACC-GA members. Claypoole and Oros touched on the history of technological requirements in law and ethical duties as laid out in Model Rule 1.1 and Model Rule 1.4. They discussed new technology issues such as surveillance and AI and how these evolving issues can impact ethics and compliance in the legal industry.
