Joe Whitley Joins International Panel Discussion on FCPA Enforcement

Joe Whitley, the Chair of Womble Bond Dickinson's White Collar Defense, Investigations and Regulatory Enforcement practice, spoke at an August 6 webinar titled, “FCPA Enforcement: The International Perspective”.

With the Department of Justice pursuing fewer cases of international corruption and reorienting its Foreign Corrupt Practices Act (FCPA) enforcement priorities, three European regulators have come together to fill the void. In late March, authorities from the UK's Serious Fraud Office (SFO), France's Parquet National Financier (PNF), and Switzerland's Office of the Attorney General (OAG) announced a task force to strengthen collaboration in cases involving international bribery and corruption. In this webinar, a panel of prominent white-collar practitioners in each jurisdiction discussed more about the task force, what it portends for European enforcement trends, and what it means for American companies doing business overseas.

Whitley was joined in the conversation by attorneys Ross Dixon (UK), Sonja Maeder Morvant (Switzerland), and Emmanuel Moyne (France).

The “FCPA Enforcement: The International Perspective” webinar was presented by the American Bar Association and the Federal Bar Association’s District of Columbia Chapter.
