American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers Elects Robert Savoie as a Fellow

Womble Bond Dickinson Partner Robert Savoie has been elected to the 2026 Fellows Class of the American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers.

The American College of Consumer Financial Services Lawyers is an invitation-only organization. Membership in the College is limited to “those lawyers whose principal practice is in the field of consumer financial services law, who have achieved preeminence in the field of consumer financial services law and who have made repeated and substantial contributions to the promotion of learning and scholarship in consumer financial services law through teaching, lecturing and published writings.”

Savoie advises fintech companies and other financial institutions on regulatory compliance in consumer and commercial financial services. He assists clients in navigating federal and state lending, licensing, and debt collection requirements and in preparing for examinations, investigations, and enforcement actions.

His clients include fintech companies, start-ups, mortgage lenders and servicers, marketplace lenders, automotive and personal property finance companies, cryptocurrency exchanges, small loan companies, national and state banks, high and low dollar commercial lenders, and businesses engaged in merchant cash advance and factoring. He counsels them on compliance with the federal laws applicable to their programs, such as the Truth in Lending Act (TILA), Fair Debt Collection Practices Act (FDCPA), Servicemembers Civil Relief Act (SCRA), Military Lending Act (MLA), Fair Credit Reporting Act (FCRA), Real Estate Settlement Procedures Act (RESPA), and related state laws.
